About Me
My name is Dan Feather, and this is my blog. I have a hard time labeling myself, so I don't know what you'd call me... Geek is probably fitting. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Missouri State University. I have worked as a software developer for around 7 years now. My blog is just a random mish-mash of my thoughts about music, movies, coding, politics, society, or whatever I happen to find interesting. I got into computers originally because of the game DOOM by id software. I wanted to know how it and computers in general worked, and how to make them do what I want. I enjoy gaming (PC, Console, Arcade), Coding, Music, Movies, and Beer... among other things.
This website has been in existence in various forms since around 1997. I have archived "blog" entries from back then (they weren't really called blogs then), I just don't have them in this current version of my blog. This blog software is something I have written as an exercise in learning how to use the Django Web framework and write code in Python. Both are, in my opinion, "nifty" and "swell" and "pretty stinkin' cool."
What you will read here probably won't be news. It will be my opinions on whatever. If you happen to find my opinion to be valuable that's great. However, if you decide to base a life changing decision on something I say here and it doesn't work out, that's your fault. I might be sorry, but you have been warned. Just throwing that out there just in case.
